Sowerby Spirifer liratus. This form received more adequate description by Salter (1848) in the Memoirs of the Geological Survey, and in Murchison’s Siluria, and was later included under the generic name of Stricklandia, proposed by Billings (1859) for a certain section of the Pentameracea, and subsequently changed by him to Stricklandinia (1863).
