Abstract
Small quartzite xenoliths scattered throughout the granodiorite are mantled by broad mafic coronas, the inner part of which is composed largely of augite and the outer part mainly of hornblende. The formation of the coronas is examined and some general features of magmatic reaction with quartzite inclusions are discussed.
