Geological magazine : Vol. 95 Iss. 1-6 Year. 1958Summary: Seventeen Connemara pelites have been chemically and modally analysed and a garnet, a staurolite, and a biotite from them chemically analysed. The results show that these pelites are rather poor in silica and rich in alumina and total iron. It is believed that this was an original feature of the composition.
