With reference to M. J. S. Rudwick's recent article on feeding mechanisms of spire-bearing brachiopods, notes that no living brachiopod has an exhalant filter-feeding current system. The probable nature of the current system of the genus Discinisca and its implications are discussed, and it is tentatively concluded, awaiting direct observation, that Discinisca possesses an exhalant system.
